The roll of the dice for the next adviser

I have found that with my own personal experience at Goddard MFAIA it is extremely difficult to know the advisers. The schedule at residency is jam packed with little time for resting, never-the-less finding time to meet someone you don't know who also has a busy schedule.

I liked my undergraduate study at Vermont College Union Institute because you had to have sessions with the advisers. Little jam sessions with other students where you could get to know the advisers and talk about your perspective study. You really got to know them.

At Goddard the only way I have found to get to know the advisers are:

1. Go to graduation (Each adviser talks about their student. you get a better sense of who they are)

2. Ask other students ( be careful of this one. Someone might think a person is great another might not jell with that adviser at all.)

3. Go to presentations that the advisers put on during residency.

4. Contact an adviser prior to residency and see if they can talk.

With that in mind about this time in the semester, approximately a few weeks before school. Students are sent an email saying to pick your adviser. You get to pick your top three. It is not announced until residency.

CHECK THAT OFF MY LIST and say a little adviser prayer that we are indeed a good fit.
