Some fun links from this semester?

What am I doing this semester? Seems like I should post some artwork or something. It is however, very personal and I'm not ready to share it. So I thought I might share some other things that I found interesting.I have been working with small and was sent this video by my daughter. Uses small and digital technology which I love.

I really like the work of this sculptor Beth Cavener Stitchter

Mcgee, Margaret. Haiku--the Sacred Art: a Spiritual Practice in Three Lines. City: Skylight Paths Publishing, 2009.

Reading this book has not been something that I felt I wanted to rush through, but instead, savor, taste and move on slowly. I will add this to my personal library. I am especially interested in the author relating the spiritual practice to her own faith within the Episcopal church, and speaking of the rhythm of scripture. It is through this book that I have decided to incorporate reading scripture, prayer and reciting as well as using scripture as inspiration for my practicum of entering the self and sacred.

I also interviewed this author on a podcast. Will post that later.

A helpful hint!

One G3 student said that her adviser was asking her to do a rough draft of her practicum report in her 4th packet. I think this is a personal adviser thing as I can find nothing in my addendum that states I must do this as a G3. In fact a practicum report is what is needed for the portfolio.

However, it seems like it would be a very helpful hint to write this practicum report at the end of this semester and have it ready for portfolio. That is my intent.

MENTAL NOTE WRITE PRACTICUM REPORT AT END OF SEMESTER!

G3 packet 3 is gone

Yes, I am passed the 1/2 way point for my graduate studies. Though it feels like I am much further. I only have one more semester of actually study after this. Your final semester is writing your portfolio. One more semester feels a little strange. Like I must really be sure I focus on what I am studying for that last semester to get what I need. What I need for degree criteria, but also what I feel will be to my advantage as a graduate.

Packet 3 is gone.

Save your files!

My suggestions for this month and your educational endeavors are.... SAVE YOUR FILES!

Seems like everyone's hard drives are crashing these days. I'm right along with them. My hard drive crashed and I was so glad I could transfer some of my work to my other computer before it happened. Still I lost days of time and am still dealing with it.

Sister school?

For those of you who don't know this. Goddard has two campuses. One is in Vermont the other is on the other coast. I have been notified that the G1's in the MFAIA in Port Townsend would like to develop a relationship with the G1's in Vermont. If anyone is interested from the Vermont clan, please let me know. I'll put you in contact with someone at Port Townsend.

Another packet done. 2 down 3 more to go

The semester continues. By now the new G1's have one packet under their belt and the second one on the way. Mine is ready to go to the post office. Yes, I have to snail mail mine. Not every instructor asks for snail mail, but Gale asks that we do send hers to her that way. 2 down and 3 more to go in this semester.
